Seven Great Princes Academy, the alma mater of Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan and hiplife music great Shatta Wale has called off their annual sporting events indefinitely due to a tight academic calendar.
As part of the Accra-based basic school’s curriculum activities, sporting events are held in January to honour its illustrious students to motivate others.
“It is rather unfortunate this year our games will not be held due to the limited time on our calendar and moreover our usual venue- the Kaneshie Sports Complex is under construction making it difficult to get a new venue for the game,” school officials told Star Sports.
Gyan and Shatta completed their basic school education in the late 90s before heading to their various secondary schools – Accra Academy and Winneba Secondary respectively.
