1. Deeba

Deeba Acheampong, a Ghanaian musician was accused of defiling and assaulting his two step daughters in the United Kingdom in 2013.

In December 2012, INTERPOL Accra received an arrest warrant from its counterpart in London to the effect that between 2004 and 2008, while living in the UK, the appellant had a relationship with a woman who already had two daughters, aged eight and six, from her previous relationship.

Deeba and the woman had two children from their union and lived separately.

According to the warrant, anytime the woman goes on a night shift, Deeba took care of the home and cared for the children until September, 2008 when Deeba returned to Ghana to pursue his musical career.

Two weeks after his departure from the UK, Deeba’s stepdaughter told her mother that her stepfather had s****l intercourse with her whenever her mother went to work in the night.

According to the prosecutor, on those occasions, Deeba invited the little girl into the bedroom to watch pornographic films with him, after which he would lay her on the bed, kiss her on the mouth, apply baby oil on his p***s and have s*x with her.

The little girl also alleged that the accused person sometimes had anal s*x with her and that after each act he puts a sanitary towel in her panties to avoid evidence of bloodstains and also hid the stained bed sheet.

She further alleged that Deeba threatened to beat her if she disclosed the act to anyone.

Deeba was alleged to have assaulted the little girl’s sister between June 1 and 4, 2008 when she attempted to satisfy her inquisitiveness about what was happening to her sister and that led to a cut on the back of the girl’s head.

2. Kwasi Kyei Darkwah (K.K.D)

In December 2014, KKD was arrested for allegedly raping one Ewureffe Orleans Thompson in a washroom of the Africa Regent Hotel in Accra. He pleaded not guilty, but a lower court committed him to trial at the High Court, although the victim and complainant wrote a letter to the court and the police to indicate her lack of interest in the case.

The State has since dropped the r**e charges against the popular broadcaster saying, they were no longer interested in pursuing the matter.

3. Asamoah Gyan

In June 2015, a university student, Sarah Kwabla, threatened to make public what she describes as a secretly recorded video of a s****l relation she had with Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan. Sarah said she secretly recorded the video when the Black Stars captain had s*x with her at her apartment in February this year and that she has decided to make it public because her relationship with the footballer is not going as she had envisaged.

The 22-year-old university student is also claiming she got pregnant after the intercourse and is therefore demanding that Asamoah Gyan gets her a furnished apartment, a housemaid and a monthly allowance of $1,000 for postnatal care.

In a rather shocking new twist, the Odokor police told Joy News’ Fred Smith that no case of sodomy had been filed against the Ghana captain by the 22-year-old Sarah Kwabla.

On the contrary, he said the police rather received a report of blackmail filed on behalf of Asamoah Gyan, by his lawyer Kissi Agyabeng.

4. John Dumelo

In 2010, Ghanaian actor John Dumelo was reported by a Nigerian website to have raped a housemaid in Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria where he shot a movie.

John reacting to the story said:

“IF IT WAS TRUE THAT I HAVE GONE TO r**e SOMEBODY IN NIGERIA LIKE THE STORY SAID, WHY IS IT THAT I AM STILL WALKING FREELY IN GHANA? WHERE IS THE GIRL? WHO IS SHE? WHY ARE HER PARENTS OR ANYBODY FROM NIGERIA NOT CALLING TO ASK ME ABOUT IT? HE ASKED.

5. Frank Raja

It was in the same report about John Dumelo’s r**e allegation that Frank Raja Arase who has been directing most of the movies produced by Venus Films was on the run. According to Nigeriafilms.com, the ‘Heart of Men’ director extended his directing skills to a poor housemaid (Chinemelu) by ‘forcibly messing up’ with her at a location during a film shoot in Asaba, Nigeria. Nigeriafilms.com made it clear that the famous director whisked the under-aged housemaid to his hotel room and violated her youthful innocence by sleeping with her.

He denied the allegation, saying it was the work of his competitors in Nigeria to dent his image.

“THIS IS FRANK RAJA ARASE; DO I LOOK LIKE AM A WANTED MAN? IF YOU WANT ME, YOU CAN FIND ME ANYWHERE. COME TO GHANA NOW AND ASK FOR VENUS FILM AND YOU WILL FIND ME. SO IF I AM WANTED I AM HERE, THEY SHOULD COME AND PICK ME UP,” HE STRESSED.

He admitted going to shoot a movie in Asaba, Delta state some weeks ago, after which he stayed with his family in Lagos for thirteen days, and then came back to Ghana.

6. Randy Abbey

Host of Metro TV morning show, Randy Abbey was reported to have been involved in a r**e scandal with a lady of the University of Ghana. The Al-hajj newspaper reported that they had intercepted what appears to be Randy Abbey’s s*x tape which was played on a particular radio station (name withheld) in Accra.

In the said tape, a lady claiming to be a student of the University of Ghana was heard making serious r**e allegations against Randy Abbey. However, the tape could not make headlines last year because those behind it thought it could not achieve the intended purpose at that time.
